Beyers Park was on everybody’s lips on October 19 as the Friday afternoon was made special in Boksburg with the Jacaranda FM #Straatbraai hosted in Manie Maritz Street.
Organiser Rentia Smit sent an invite to the Jacaranda FM Scenic Drive team six months ago.
“I was overjoyed when I finally heard that the team is coming to our neighbourhood,” said Smit.
Gracing the event from Jacaranda were among others Rian van Heerden (presenter), Marcelle Gordon and Thabiso Khambale.
Smit said she wanted to have a street braai because the neighbours don’t really know each other.
“What better way to get to know your community than with a Jacaranda street braai?”
“It is an exciting way to just get together and have some fun, and we were all excited to meet Rian van Heerden of course,” said Smit.
“The goal of the street braai is to connect people and what better way to do it than a real South African style braai,” said Kevin Fine from Jacaranda FM.
