Thieves steal loot across Boksburg, including food from a pre-school
Below are some of the serious crimes recently reported to the Boksburg SAPS.
* Thieves forced their way into a residential property, located in corner Hospital Road and Commissioner Street, and stole valuable goods, including a TV set, microwave, sound system and others, on September 12.
* In Freeway Park, thieves entered the residential complex at 30 Tokai Road and stole a motor vehicle on September 13.
It appears that the thugs entered the property during the night, forced their way into one of the units and stole the car keys while the vehicle owner was asleep in the same building. They then drove away in the victim’s Toyota Legend which was parked in his garage.
* Hungry thieves forced their way into one of the buildings at the pre-school on Maple Avenue and stole food worth about R2 000 on September 13.
* In Boksburg South, thieves forced opened the door of a business to gain entry and stole goods worth thousands of rand on September 14. The stolen items include computers, printers and a camera.
* In Sunward Park, burglars forced opened one of the doors to enter a business on Kingfisher Avenue and stole three TV sets on September 17.
* On September 16, thieves also broke the window of a business on Market Street, Boksburg CBD, and stole a TV set, laptop, speakers and other valuable goods on September 17.
* The operator of a Jerusalem informal settlement tavern, known as Top-Dog, apprehended a man and handed him over to the police after he found him with a Norinco 9mm pistol and 11 rounds of ammunition inside his tavern on September 16. The suspect was charged with possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
