Ward councillor calls on public’s input into IDP’s priorities

The councillor said they are looking forward to list new priorities for 2018/2019.

A public meeting regarding Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Priorities will be held on September 19 at 6pm at the Boksburg city hall.

Ward councillor Marius de Vos invites the entire community to attend and give their insights.

De Vos said that in the second term of the new financial year it is the responsibility of the council to go to the community.

This will afford the community to list five priorities to feature in the budget for the next financial year. “The IDP priorities of 2017/2018 have been delivered to a large extent.”

Some of these IDPs included the Boksburg Lake, the replacement of electrical boxes in Plantation while the resurfacing of Waterson Road in Parkdene still needs to be done within this financial year.

“The upgrading of PG Park Sports Stadium is underway and floodlights have been fixed, allowing sports teams to practice at night and mobile ablution facilities have been delivered to Blue Sky informal settlement.

De Vos said they will look at parks in Boksburg which, according to him, have been totally neglected.

“We will also look at rehabilitating walkways in the CBD.”
