Watch: Suspects flee with loot in another cash-in-transit heist in Boksburg

This incident follows a cash-in-transit heist on North Rand and Atlas roads in Boksburg on July 5 during which one person was killed, and three others were injured.

An undisclosed amount of money was stolen during a cash-in-transit heist this morning on September 11 in Dawn Park.

The incident took place just after 8am.

According to Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson Constable Nkemeleng Mabula, two G4S guards, who had just picked up the money at Cashbuild (Dawn Park shopping centre), were approached by three unknown men with firearms.

“The suspects pointed firearms at the guards and they took the money.

“The suspects allegedly ran to a white Jetta vehicle and loaded the cash. A shootout ensued between the guards and the suspects, however, the suspects managed to flee the scene with the loot,” Mabula said.

Mabula said it appears four other suspects were waiting in the vehicle, thus seven suspects were involved in the heist. All of them were involved in the shoot-out with the guards.

No injuries were reported.
