Family robbed at gunpoint in Parkdene

The following cases were reported to the Boksburg SAPS:

Robbed

A gang of thieves forced their way into a residential house in Muller Street in Parkdene and robbed the family at gunpoint, on August 26.

One of the victims, a woman, told the police that she and her daughter, as well as their helper, were inside the house when a gang of four armed men entered the property and pointed a firearm at them.

The thugs then instructed the victims to go into the bathroom where they were covered with blankets. The thieves ransacked the house, stealing four Samsung TV sets, two iPhones, a sound system, personal computer and two pairs of expensive shoes.

No shots were fired and no injuries reported.

Burglarised

Thieves cut a hole in the roof of a shoe store, located on the corner of Leeuwpoort Street and Trichardts Road, and stole stock worth about R300 000.

The stolen goods included shoes, computers, cash and a portable sound system.

The employee told the police that he discovered the large hole in the roof at the store upon arriving just before 8am on Saturday, August 25. He became suspicious and after thoroughly checking, he discovered that there were missing items in the store.

Police believe that the theft could be connected to another business burglary in the CBD.
