Sipho Simon Masiko (36) of Vosloorus was on July 12 sentenced to four months imprisonment or a R2 000 fine for assaulting his wife.
Masiko pleaded guilty to the common assault, was found guilty and sentenced on July 12.
On March 26 he slapped Pinkie Masiko with the palm of his hand. The accused has no previous conviction.
Magistrate Emanuel Magamba presided and prosecutor Ntombi Mbonani represented the state.
