Watch: Zumbathon promotes fitness this winter for a good cause

Participants danced to great music while meeting new and interesting people and they had fun while working out.

Mega Mica Boksburg, in collaboration with Martinique Nel and Zumba®Fitness East Rand, held a Zumbathon winter dance session for charity at Mega Mica Boksburg’s parking lot on June 30.

The session saw young and old people in their gym attire ready to fight those extra kilos.

To join in the fun Zumbathon, participants were encouraged to bring along any type of cat or dog food.

Brigitte Thysse, Mega Mica marketing manager, said the aim of the Zumbathon was to collect dog or cat food for charity.

“We organised this event to collect dog and cat food for the Boksburg SPCA while having fun and losing some extra kilos.

“We have partnered with Martinique Nel who was also running her project on the side of collecting dog food for the SPCA.”

Nine-year-old Martinique’s mother Angelique Nel, said: “Mega Mica approached us after they saw our Facebook post about Martinique’s project. We thank them for allowing us to collaborate with them in making a difference in our community.”

Delvin Muzorewa from Zumba®Fitness East Rand said Zumba is fun and exciting as it also helps with fitness and the well-being of a person.
