Metro reminds residents of tariff hikes as from July 1

Residents will start noticing changes to their July monthly account statements.

Ekurhuleni residents and the business sector are reminded that as from  July 1 tariffs will increase.

This is according to the announcement by the MMC for Finance and Economic Development Doctor Xhakaza when he tabled the 2018/2019 budget speech.

Tariffs have increased as follows:

  • Assessment rates 6.9 per cent
  • Water 12.96 per cent
  • Sanitation 9 per cent
  • Refuse removal 7.5 per cent
  • Electricity – between 5.32 per ceent and 8.5 per cent (subject to usage)
