Fire guts house in Freeway Park

No injuries were accounted for on scene.

A house in Freeway Park suffered severe damage due to a fire on June 20.

William Ntladi, media liaison officer of emergency services, confirmed that Wadeville Fire Station received and responded to an urgent call in the morning.

Prior to arrival on scene, Boksburg Central Fire Station was also activated for back-up.

“On arrival, the crew found flames already projecting through the collapsed roof and windows,” said Ntladi.

“After extinguishing the flames, it was found that all three bedrooms, kitchen, dining room and bathroom were damaged by the fire.”

Parts of the roof and windows collapsed as a fire devoured this house in Freeway Park.

The lounge sustained a roof collapse and severe smoke and water damage.

The owner arrived later after the fire was extinguished.

“The cause of the fire is undetermined and still under investigation,” said Ntladi.
