Newly launched Christian-minded network kicks off with meeting in Boksburg

CBL is a non-denominational group where members and/or visitors from any and all Christian doctrines are welcomed.

The Christian Business League (CBL) has recently been launched and the first meeting will be held in Boksburg.

According to Tanya Parsons, CBL organiser, this is a business networking group aimed at creating a platform for Christian business owners on the East Rand to meet, mingle and transact with fellow Christian business owners.

“CBL members are proudly and unashamedly Christian businessmen and women,” said Parsons.

“This statement does not make us perfect, but it helps us to strive a little harder towards serving God as best as we can, also in our businesses.

“We are distinctly bold. And this is not just a group, it’s a league, like superheroes. The definition of a league is a collection of people that combine for mutual protection or co-operation.

“The definition of unashamedly is not being ashamed, not restrained by embarrassment or consciousness of moral guilt.”

She said the purpose is to create a network platform with a difference.

“A safe space where business owners can interact, ask advice, be mentored, grow, be inspired, be encouraged, fellowship and most importantly, give glory to God Almighty.

“Our network platforms are available to any business person in the Ekurhuleni region who are unashamedly Christian.”

The demographic area will include 10 towns, namely: Alberton, Bedfordview, Edenvale, Kempton Park, Germiston, Boksburg, Benoni, Brakpan, Springs and Nigel.

“Members of CBL will be encouraged to make use of fellow CBL members’ services, in an effort to support and increase the value of the network.

“Who better to do business with than people with the same ethics and principles as you, like minded, like Spirited.

“Members will be prompted to grant a special discount to fellow members, all within reason and good business practice of course.”

She said CBL meetings will take place once a month at various venues around the Ekurhuleni area.

Parsons pointed out that CBL will invite expert speakers to educate, inform and mentor members and visitors in the six different areas of business, such as administration, human resources, operation, finance, marketing and sales.

The first meeting will be held on June 22 at Mike’s Kitchen, Phillips Road, Westwood, from 9am to 11am.

The speaker is Fritz van der Berg who will be talking on “Risk Management in your Workplace”.
