Lifts at Andries Scribante Haven still not going anywhere

After multiple promised dates, the lifts have still not been replaced and the elderly have been left to their own devices.

Since the Advertiser’s last report about the broken lifts at Andries Scribante Haven in Cason, on February 22, a lot has been left undone.

“It appears to me that we are facing a delay with the installation of the lifts at Scribante,” said ward councillor Marius de Vos.

According to the project manager assigned to the lifts, Pumzile Naytlo, there was a small issue with variation works.

“The contractors will only start work at the establishment on May 4,” said Naytlo.

The Advertiser is keeping a close eye on the developments regarding repairs to the lifts at Scribante.
