Aerotropolis Chamber’s CEO fired up to do business

The ACCIP is affiliated to the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI), who in turn is affiliated to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC)

The Aerotropolis Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Publicity (ACCIP), operating in Boksburg, has appointed Derek Fox as CEO.

Fox said that the ACCIP is set to take on a new trajectory.

“We are looking to meet, associate with and speak to people who are looking to get South Africa moving again and moving forward,” said Fox.

“Growth rates of one per cent and two per cent are not going to create and provide the opportunities for business to be established and for jobs to be created.”

“Considering our affiliations, this, therefore, gives members of ACCIP a local, regional, national and international reach far beyond any networking opportunity and company that businesses currently belong to,” said Fox.

During his term as president of the Chamber, Fox said most requests from members were around networking events and business opportunities.

“Now as CEO I plan to put that programme on ‘steroids’. It’s about visibility and member benefits.”

He said the following venues have already agreed to host networking functions. They are News Café Emperors Palace and Functions Inc.

“The ACCIP has also unveiled its new membership benefits package.”

Hitting the ground running, Fox has formed an association with a local construction forum and has obtained buy-in from the Bokkie Park craft market to host a property showcase, which will offer estate agents an opportunity to display their company and properties.

“Furthermore, planning has begun on the ‘Doing Business in Ekurhuleni’ showcase which will feature businesses in Ekurhuleni. This event is scheduled to take place next year.”

He said they are also looking at giving recognition to the Restaurant of the Year, Business of the Year and Waitron of the Year.

Fox invites all businesses and business people in Ekurhuleni interested in being part of the solution and part of the positive change to get in touch with him at admin@gbcci.co.za or on 010 285 0313 or on 082 882 886 0651.

Should you own a venue and would like to make it available to the ACCIP to hold networking functions, please contact Fox on 082 886 0651.
