Taxi crashes into building in Ravensklip

The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.

Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious crash near the corners of Pitout Road and Reisling Street, in Ravensklip at about 8am on Saturday (April 14).

According to spokesperson Nick Dollman, paramedics from various services responded to the incident and attended to multiple patients who had sustained a wide range of injuries.

Reports from the scene indicate that a minibus vehicle crashed into a building.

Two patients had sustained very serious injuries and a Netcare 911 helicoper ambulance as well as another helicopter ambulance were called to the scene to assist.

The helicopter landed in the car park area of a nearby church and the crew attended to a female patient, in her fifties.

Once stabilised, she was airlifted to a specialist trauma unit for the urgent care that she required.

The remaining patients were transported by road ambulances to hospitals for further care.
