Aerotropolis Food and Craft Market launches in Boksburg North

The market was not only fun and festive but a reminder that locals are innovative entrepreneurs who know how to have a great time.

Great food, entertainment, trendy products and an exciting and energetic atmosphere all describe the first Aerotropolis Food and Craft Market which took place in and around Second Street, Boksburg North, on April 7.

The market offered a wide variety of culture and cuisine, from classic Indian samosas and Mexican taco’s to good old South African boerie rolls.

There was plenty for the discerning pallet too – handmade nougat, organic rusks, jams, chutneys and lots more.

Deaf artist Renee de Villiers’ beautiful exhibition lured many a curious eye and the event received full support from various East Rand motorbike clubs.

Collin Henry provided live entertainment while the presenters from Platinum Gold Radio turned some of the market goers into celebs with on-air interviews.

“This market is a lovely idea. People should definitely support the next one,” said Jane Luff, who was enjoying the day with her husband and granddaughter.

“This was a wonderful day out and we thank everyone that showed support,” said Ingrid Lombaard, market organiser.

The next Aerotropolis Food and Craft Market takes place at the same location on May 5,
