Reiger Park Mr SA finalist’s hopes dashed

The Mr SA official website has also since been suspended.

A top 12 finalist in the Mr South Africa contest, Keanan Francis of Reiger Park, has expressed his disappointment after the grand finale was cancelled.

It was scheduled to take place in Cape Town on February 24 but, according to Francis, cancelled due to sponsors pulling out of the event.

“It obviously comes with great disappointment as everything came to a standstill,” Keanan said.

“It is a big blow since we have all invested time and money in preparing for this pageant.”

According to an article posted on promptside.co.za on January 28, the Mr South Africa has come under fire over the past four years for “shady practices”.

The website lists “red flags” raised by contestants.

The Advertiser is awaiting official comment from the Mr SA organiser.
