A new name and home for Bokkie

Boksburg SPCA manager Maggie Mudd said Facebook has really helped them to find loving homes for the many pets up for adoption.

Bokkie, a two-year-old miniature Doberman has finally found his forever home after being with the Boksburg SPCA since December, last year.

His new owner, Beverly Sterrett, came all the way from the Free State to adopt Bokkie after seeing his adorable photo on an SPCA Facebook post.

According to Sterrett, her friend shared the post on her Facebook wall and that’s when she fell in love with Bokkie.

“I lost my dog, Joey, due to heart failure on Christmas Eve, last year.

“My friend who lives in Ventersdorp and knew that I had recently lost Joey, who looked similar to Bokkie, shared the post on my wall.

“I instantly fell in love with Bokkie. He has settled in very well and I have renamed him Rocky.

“He is such a sweet, loving little boy who gets along with my 14 other dogs,” Sterrett said.

“We have had people coming from all parts of Gauteng and as far as Durban to adopt pets that they fall in love with after seeing them on our Facebook page,” said Boksburg SPCA manager Maggie Mudd.
