Watch: Fashionably strutting their stuff to raise funds for designer’s trip

Art Hearts Fashion is a leading platform for designers and artists to showcase their collections in a contemporary fashion week setting.

Springs fashion designer William de Beer held his second fashion show in Boksburg on February 10.

Tilt Resto Bar in Bentel Avenue, Jansen Park, played host to the show to fund-raise for the designer’s trip to Los Angeles.

De Beer, the sole owner of Willet Designs Couture, said he recently received an invitation from the President of Arts Hearts Fashion (AHF) to represent South Africa at the Los Angeles Fashion Week from March 15 to 18.

“Events have been held coast to coast as a national platform for designers to showcase at LA Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, Miami Swim Week and beyond.”

Founded in 2011 by philanthropist and designer Erik Rosete, AHF has grown to become a top platform in the art and fashion community.

The event featured an ensemble of models who hit the runway exhibiting the Willet Designs Couture’s line of clothing.

In attendance were a few well known SA celebrities, including Zetske van Pletzen and up-and-coming singer Jono Johansen.

Although his personal assistant, Leonie Cronje, could not divulge how much money was raised at the event, she stated that the amount needed for the LA trip is about R250 000.
