Help local Thesha creators’ dreams become a reality

Thesha was produced by a Dawn Park company

Locally produced film and web series, Thesha, has recently been nominated in the best drama category at the Vancouver Web Fest in Canada taking place on April 19 to 21.

The 10-episode web series walked away with three awards. Best script, best Ekurhuleni film and best South African film at the second SABC Ekurhuleni International Film Festival on December 2, 2017, at the Germiston Theatre.

Thesha (street slang for “work”) was produced by Dawn Park’s very own Izigigaba Advertising and Communications.

Vancouver Web Fest brings together creators from around the world for three days of panels, workshops, keynotes, screenings and experience centered sharing.

Part festival, part conference and part showcase encouraging guests to discover, experience and participate in this exciting era of digital storytelling.

“We feel that it is important for the team to attend this festival as it will open more business opportunities.

“It will assist us to network with other film creators with the possibility of co-productions between South Africa and Canada to meeting with distributors and TV stations which will open new territories for our proudly Ekurhuleni made content.

“We are happy to represent the metro in these new emerging economy and artistic space,” said Ziggy Ravuku of Izigigaba Advertising and Communications.

Thesha is a web series based on the story of two best friends, both unsure about their future, who set out to carve their own path by seeking to make it big in the music industry.

From sound equipment rentals to starting a recording company, the path to success proves to be a dangerous road filled with hard choices, luring temptations, money, sex, violence and betrayal.

Members from the Izigigaba are asking the Boksburg community to help sponsor their three days trip and make this dream come true.

If you can assist, contact Ziggy on 076 845 1483 or theshatheseries@gmail.com.
