Woman held up at knifepoint in Beyers Park

Incidents of a woman being held up at knifepoint in Beyers Park and the recovery of a stolen car in Trichardts Road were recently handled by the Boksburg North police.

* A woman was saved by a stranger after a gang of robbers armed with a knife attempted to rob her while she was walking down Williams Road, Beyers Park, on the night of December 15.

The complainant told the police that as she was walking down the street, she noticed three men approaching her. All of a sudden one of the suspects grabbed her and one of his accomplices threatened her with a knife.

She screamed for help and a stranger came to her rescue and also apprehended one of the suspects, who was later handed over to the Boksburg North SAPS.

* A driver was arrested after members of the OR Tambo SAPS found him driving a stolen VW Golf along Trichardts Road, Boksburg North, on December 16.

The officers became suspicious when they spotted the vehicle without a number plate. They pulled the driver over and upon investigation found that the car was reported stolen in Benoni. He was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
