Reach out to the design students at Villa Lisa Secondary

Villa Lisa Secondary School's design class needs your help.

Because learners at the school come from underprivileged backgrounds, they struggle to make ends meet in terms of stationery for this subject.

Design as a subject was introduced to the school in 2016 and has shone forth with learners achieving a 92 per cent pass rate.

Thomas Sibanyoni, HOD of the school, said: “We saw the need to introduce such subjects to cater for children who have a passion for art. Some of these learners can’t afford stationery. It’s our biggest challenge because it makes the work of the learners and teachers difficult.”

The subject has been introduced to Grade 10, 11 and 12 learners.

The school is in need of A2 drawing paper, art boards, pencils, cameras, chalkboards and paint.

The school is appealing to anyone who can help to contact Sibanyoni on 061 547 7431.
