Pro-active week for Boksburg North SAPS with many arrests

The Boksburg North SAPS made the following arrests:

  • Business burglary arrest

Boksburg North SAPS arrived at the scene of a business burglary in Burry Koen Street, Jet Park on November 3 at noon.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS communications officer Capt Juanita Coetzer the members found that the padlock was open and the suspects gained entry through the change rooms.

According to the video footage there were three suspects.

A thorough investigation led to the arrest of one suspect on the same day.

  • Possession of possible stolen property

Sgt Thembani Nkuna and Const Edward Ralebipi were patrolling on the corner of Tim and Kanon streets, Morganridge on November 7 at about 3.10am when they saw a security vehicle with a male occupant next to the road.

Coetzer said they stopped and searched the suspect and found a bag, with possible stolen items inside, in the possession of the suspect.

On the bag was a cellphone number which they phoned. The complainant said he had had a burglary earlier and reported it to the police.

He identified the items as those stolen from his residence.

The SAPS arrested the suspect for the possession of suspected stolen property.

  • Possession of suspected stolen property and illegal substances

Sgts Nick Muller and Gerhard Diedericks were patrolling in Trichardts Road, Ravenswood when they noticed a white VW Golf with three occupants, two men and a woman, in a veld on November 7 around 3.30pm.

They approached and searched the men and the vehicle and found items which the men could not offer an explanation for as to where they had obtained these.

The owner of a nearby pet shop saw the police and came to the scene.

He identified the property as items stolen from his business.

The SAPS members also found illegal substances in one of the suspect’s possession.

A case of business break-in was registered by the complainant.

One male suspect was detained for the possession of illegal substances and the other two suspects were arrested for the possession of suspected stolen property.

They were detained and the property was handed in as evidence.
