Community mourns passing of CPF’s “strong leader”

Members of the Boksburg North CPF and the Boksburg North community at large are mourning the passing of Sector One CPF chairperson, Denise Curry, who also served as the deputy chairperson of the Boksburg North CPF.

According to her colleague Terence Sinclair, Curry passed away on October 26.
She was reportedly found dead in her house and the cause of death remains unclear at this stage.

According to Sinclair, Curry served as a member and leader of the Boksburg North CPF for about seven years.

Expressing his grief at the news of the passing of his friend and colleague, Sinclair said he was deeply saddened by Curry’s death. “It’s a great loss for us. She was a very strong woman who was very dedicated to her job of serving the community of Boksburg North. She loved her job and was a no-nonsense leader,” said Sinclair.

“It is with great sadness that we wish to advise the Boksburg North Sector One community of the passing of our chairperson Denise Curry,” said the Boksburg North CPF Sector One in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

The forum further stated that Curry’s passion and commitment to the community of Boksburg North area was unprecedented.

Denise reportedly played a very important role in the fight against crime and she wanted to rid the community of crime and stop the drug trade said to be robbing children of their youth.

“She sacrificed countless hours to ensure that the Boksburg North Sector One CPF was seen as one of the best in the country. She was our Margaret Thatcher, our iron lady!

“The love she showed to her community, the CPF and the patrollers will never be forgotten. We salute you, Denise! Condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. She will be truly missed,” said the CPF in the statement. -@FanieFLK
