R60 000 worth of sold cupcakes brings new hope

It was a busy day for the employees of Gerald Grose Estates, as they ran around the Sunward Park Lifestyle Centre selling cupcakes to shoppers in aid of Cupcakes of Hope on Saturday, September 29.

National Cupcake Day was celebrated across all malls in South Africa.

Gerald Grose Estates, in collaboration with Paul Vieira, owner and creator of Cake Extreme and Pizza Delforno, managed to raised R60 000 for Cupcakes of Hope.

A total of 6 550 cupcakes were sold, including pre-orders and cupcakes sold on the day.

Cupcakes were sold at R10 each or R50 for six.

Belinda Kruger, from Pizza Delforno, said: “We are happy to be part of this initiative again this year, as we have been running the initiative for the past three years alone.

“We partnered with Gerald Grose Estates this year because we have one mission and that is to make a difference to children who are affected by cancer.”
