More than half a ton of pet food collected for SPCA

Century 21's East Rand office collected more than half a ton of pet food on September 16.

The drop-off point was located outside Atlas Mall and shoppers were happy to contribute to the SPCA’s Boksburg branch.

The drive was organised by Gary Rowles, rental agent at Century 21. It is the third time that this office participated in collecting food.

Previously, they have donated to the SPCAs in Benoni and Kempton Park.

“We thank Spar and the management of Atlas Mall for the opportunity to host the event. Many thanks to the people who contributed so generously,” said Rowles.

Savas Nicolaides, Century 21 dealer principal, said he was proud of his rental team.

“As people continue to face financial hardship, charities are increasingly strained by greater demand and a decline in donations. We are proud to help out in our local community,” stated Nicolaides.

Century 21’s rental team visited the SPCA in Boksburg on September 18 to hand over the pet food.

SPCA manager, Maggie Mudd, was elated with the large donation.

“This food will go a long way in feeding our furry friends. Especially the tinned food as we have taken in a lot of puppies over the last few weeks,” said Mudd.

She said they are in desperate need for a constant supply of tinned food and if people wanted to drop off any donations they can visit the SPCA’s Boksburg branch in Railway Street.
