According to the Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Sgt Cebisa Maseko, the man reportedly attacked his wife with a small kitchen knife in their shack in Angelo informal settlement, on Tuesday night, August 15.
“The brother of the suspect flagged down a passing police van and informed the officers that his brother had stabbed his wife.
“The officers rushed to the address and found the half-naked woman, covered with a blanket, lying motionless on the floor. She had been stabbed just below her left breast,” said Maseko.
An ambulance was called and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
The weapon used to attack the woman was found next to her body, but the suspect was nowhere to be seen.
Police have registered a case of murder and the motive for the attack remains unclear.
This attack comes less than two weeks after a group of concerned citizens took to the streets of Reiger Park and Ramaphosa to march against violence against women and children. -@FanieFLK
