Stabbed to death
A Jerusalem informal settlement resident, Isaac Buthelezi, died after he was stabbed multiple times in the informal settlement on Sunday, August 13. Details surrounding his attack remain unclear and police are investigating a case of murder.
Home invasion
In Sunward Park a gang of robbers forced their way into a residential property and robbed the occupant of the house of valuables worth about R20 000 on Thursday night, August 10. According to the police report, the victim was awoken by the robbers who shone a torch in his face. They ordered him to cover his face while they stole his belongings. They made off with cellphones, a TV set and a laptop. No injuries were reported. Police are investigating a case of house robbery.

* In Sunward Park two men held workers at the Zenex garage at gunpoint before stealing cigarettes worth thousands of rands this morning, Monday, August 14. The two armed men forced opened the door of the garage shop to gain entry just after midnight. They then threatened the staff members with a firearm and stole the cigarettes. A case of business robbery was opened.
* At the Sunward Park Lifestyle Shopping Centre, a woman was robbed of her personal belongings as she was walking towards her car in the parking lot on Saturday, August, 12.
“As she was walking towards her car, an unknown man grabbed her bag from behind and ran off. Items inside the bag included a cellphone. Police are investigating a case of common robbery. “This is the second incident to be reported at the centre and we would like to urge shoppers to be on high alert when they are in the area,” said Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Sgt Cebisa Maseko.
* In Boksburg South, a student was robbed of his school bag containing textbooks. The victim told the police that he was walking along Hoffman Street when a car nearly drove into him. Two passengers got out of the car and confronted him. He attempted to run away, but the robbers caught him after blocking his way with the car. They assaulted him before taking his school bag.
