The competition is now in the regional leg, where children from Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban will go head-to-head to make it to the finals.
On July 12, Toys “R” Us in Boksburg hosted the Johannesburg leg of the Nickelodeon Toy Sprint.
A total of four children put their speed to the test in a race against the clock to scoop as many toys as they can in 60 seconds.
The winners were Aishania Sana Naidoo, Chad Fanaroff, Julie Joan Kloppe and Maleeha Suliman.
Tasania Parsadh, channel director for Nickelodeon said: “The competition was open to children aged 6 to 12 years. We are delighted to be partnering again this year with Toys “R” Us in this fun competition which is an epic race against the clock.
“Children always comes first at Nickelodeon and this is a dream competition for youngsters.”
Nicole Annells, marketing manager Toys R Us and Babies R Us South Africa, said: “We are overwhelmed by the incredible response to the competition and can’t wait to make all our finalists’ dreams of running through their favourite toy store a reality.”
The winners of the Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg sprints will then go head-to-head in an online video battle determined by public vote to claim the ultimate prize for one winner.
The trip is an all-expenses paid trip for four to the Nickelodeon Hotels & Resort Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
