Four thieves arrested at a North Rand Road company

Three suspects and a security guard were arrested in connection with a burglary at a company in North Rand Road, in the early hours of this morning (July 6).

Sgt Mike Ndlela and Const Ishmael Mahlo, from the Boksburg North SAPS, were on patrol when they were contacted about a burglary in progress, at a truck company in North Rand Road.

They responded and were met by staff from a security company.

“Officer Ndlela walked into the company’s premises and along the fence while the other officer drove alongside him,” said the Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Capt Juanita Coetzer.

“They spotted a suspect running and jumping the fence.”

Officer Ndlela proceeded to where a truck was parked and found three suspects hiding under the vehicle.

With the help of the security company, the police arrested the three suspects.

“Officer Ndlela was not yet satisfied and proceeded to a gate where two security guards were stationed,” said Coetzer.

“When they saw him approaching, they started running but officer Ndlela was able to arrest one of the security guards.”

The suspects’ vehicle, a white Iveco, was recovered and contained stolen electrical equipment and clothing that was destined for Cape Town.

The suspects allegedly came from Jeppe, Johannesburg to steal stock from the trucks.
