Rotary extends support to Vita Nova

The Rotary Club of Boksburg Lake began supporting the Vita Nova Centre in 1986, when Nicky Savvides held his first year of office as the club's president.

The centre, situated in Springs, caters for people with cerebral palsy, down syndrome and autism, and the physically and mentally challenged.

Now, 31 years later, Savvides is serving his second year as president of the club, where he has been a charter member since 1977, and is, once again, firmly committed to supporting Vita Nova.

Rotary members recently visited Vita Nova to spend time with the residents.

Savvides said Vita Nova was incorporated in 1977 and has gone from strength to strength.

“It is a superbly managed facility and even offers a gymnasium which is well utilised by the residents.”
