Miss Gauteng from Reiger Park wants to shine in Jamaica
Bo-Dean Peters from Reiger Park has recently been crowned Miss Gauteng 2016/17.
She also has 200 modelling titles to her name.
Her biggest dream now is to represent South Africa in a modelling pageant in Jamaica.
Bo-Dean (21) is a vivacious young woman who aspires to be a teacher one day. She is also one of the finalists in the Miss United Nations South Africa pageant taking place at the Johannesburg City Hall, on June 17.
The Reiger Park model has described herself as a humble, funny and outgoing person.
“I was an introvert up until I started modelling as a hobby and it has taught me how to be confident and how to stay grounded. I’m all about giving back, helping anywhere and everywhere I can to make a difference,” she said.
Bo-Dean said being part of the pageant has been an amazing roller-coaster ride – full of stress but worth it.
“As a finalist my duty is to be involved in charity work and visiting orphanage homes.
“I haven’t faced any challenges with my duties as I am a people’s person and I love making a difference in people’s lives. One of the biggest prizes in this competition is jetting off to Jamaica to represent South Africa on an international stage – I look forward to such a journey,” Bo-Dean said.
The determined young woman said her family keeps her going and has supported her modelling career.
“My mother, Sheradean Peters, is the driving force in my life. If it wasn’t for her I would have never be where I am today.
“The support I get from my friends and family has been overwhelming. My modelling family, Vogue Models East Rand and Dean and Mariette Krause have always been there to give me advice when I needed it.
“Ren Models have also been supportive because I can knock on their door any time and they are always willing to help.”
Bo-Dean advised young people to believe in themselves so they can achieve their dreams.
“You are never given a dream without being given the power to make it come true. No matter how discouraged you might get at times, you must know that if you can dream something then you will always have everything in you to make it come true.
“It’s important to just believe in yourself and your abilities to achieve what you set your mind to,” Bo-Dean said.
