Taxi strike causes delays on N12 The N12 west towards Johannesburg is reportedly moving at a snail’s pace this morning (June 15).

Traffic is moving at a snail's pace on the N12 towards Johannesburg.

The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) advised commuters to seek alternative transport on Thursday morning as its members will embark on a strike against “high minibus taxi purchase costs”.

The area around Putfontein Road is congested with traffic.

By this morning the R21 Highway running next to the airport was clear. There are, however, blockages and protests further towards Pretoria and Johannesburg.
