Police want to speak to three men over Boksburg triple murder case

Detectives investigating the murder of the three men whose bodies were found in an open veld in Boksburg have released a photo and names of the men they would like to speak to in connection with the case.

Cases of murder were registered after the bodies of men, believed to be in their 30s, were found in the open veld along Commissioner Street, opposite Delmore Gardens, on Saturday morning, March 11.

According to Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Mashudu Phathela, since the incident, detectives have been carrying out extensive inquiries, including interviewing witnesses, to locate those responsible for the murder.

Officers now want to speak to Siphamandla Zondo, aka ‘Spha’, Mlungisi Zuma, Mfanafuthi Dlangamandla, Sfiso and Thabang in connection with the murder investigation.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the men in question may contact the Reiger Park police on 011 916 7000.

Phathela said the team of investigators have arrested one of the seven men believed to be responsible for the murder.

“One of the triple murder suspects is one of the two men who were on Sunday arrested on suspicion of the murder of 29-year-old Nkululeko Zuma, of the newly established informal settlement on Commissioner Street, opposite Delmore Gardens,” said Phathela.

Zuma died in his shack after he was shot in the forehead, in front of his six-year-old stepson and girlfriend, during the early hours of Sunday, March 19.

“It is also alleged that the deceased, Nkululeko Zuma and the 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of Zuma’s death and the triple murder used to be partners in crime.

“It is believed that the deceased, Nkululeko Zuma, was also involved in the killing of the three men before he was killed by his partner in crime.”

The bodies of the three men showed injuries caused by multiple gunshots and stab wounds.

A security officer, who was patrolling the area, called the police after stumbling upon the bodies, lying about two metres away from each other in the open space.

Two of the men have not yet been identified, but the third body has been identified as a Windmill Park man, who was working as a driver, transporting schoolchildren. -@FanieFLK
