Boksburg North SAPS recently made the following arrests:

* Stolen Debonairs delivery bike recovered

Suspects have been arrested in connection with the hijacking of a Debonairs delivery motorbike in Witfield, on Friday night, January 20.

A follow-up done by the station tracing team, under the supervision of WO Willem van Aswegen, led to the breakthrough.

On Sunday morning, January 22, around 5am, the detectives went to Angelo informal settlement to investigate.

“They’ve arrested two suspects for hijacking, and two other suspects were arrested for the possession of suspected stolen property,” said Boksburg North SAPS communications officer Capt Juanita Coetzer.

All stolen items – the Debonairs delivery motorbike and other items – were recovered.

* Common robbery arrest

The complainant was at the bank inside the mall when an unknown woman approached him and ordered him to follow her to the vehicle, on November 28, 2016.

She allegedly said she was a police official and that they were looking for him.

“At the vehicle, he saw three other unknown males awaiting him. They forced him into the vehicle and drove along Rondebult Road,” said Coetzer.

“They asked him what he had in his pocket and he replied that it was money. They took the undisclosed amount of cash and dropped him off.”

The incident was reported and a case has been opened. The investigation started and one male has been arrested on January 18. The investigation is continuing.

* Possession of stolen property

Captain Phineas Madlala was on duty and interviewing a complainant in relation to a case of theft, on January 19.

The complainant alleged that he could identify the people who stole his property. He also said he could identify their vehicle.

After further investigation, Madlala found the vehicle and the suspects. Two suspects were arrested.

* Boksburg North SAPS members were patrolling in Fifteenth Avenue, Boksburg North, when they noticed a bakkie loaded with three pieces of palisade fencing, on January 19.

According to Coetzer, they stopped the bakkie and asked the occupants where they obtained the steel fencing.

“They could not explain where they obtained the steel, but said that they were on their way to sell it at a scrap metal dealer.”

The two suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property.
