ADT security guard taken to hospital after accident on Rondebult Road
A security guard from the ADT Security Company was rushed to hospital after he suffered head injuries in an accident near the First and Rondebult roads intersection this morning, January 13.
According to the information received from Philemon Skhosana of the ADT Security Company, there was a white VW Polo parked in the middle of the road. It was further alleged that its driver was outside the car, speaking to someone on the other side of the road.
“My colleague stopped at the back of the white Polo, waiting for the car to go, as he could not overtake because there was oncoming traffic. As my colleague was waiting for this car to move, a white truck bumped the ADT company car from behind,” Skhosana said.
It is alleged that the driver of the white Polo immediately drove away from the scene after the accident.
The driver of the truck was alone at the time of the accident and he sustained no injuries.
When the Advertiser arrived on the scene, the Netcare 911 paramedics had already taken the security guard to hospital.
The exact details of the crash remain the subject of police investigation.
