It is alleged that Hayward Diamonds Store was attacked by eight suspects just before noon.
Two shots were apparently fired in the store and it is suspected that two more were fired at Entrance One.
ER24 paramedics, along with the SAPS, immediately responded to the scene.
ER24 paramedics said a man and two women were left injured.
ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said that upon arrival, paramedics were led into the store where they found the three patients.
“Paramedics assessed the three victims and found that they had sustained minor injuries.”
Fortunately, no other serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene.
The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to Life Glynnwood Hospital for further care.
East Rand Mall marketing manager Sonya Cawood confirmed that armed robbers held up staff at the Hayward Diamonds Store and that shots were fired.
