Help police catch rapists, killers in horrendous crime

Police are still appealing for information regarding the rape of a 20-year-old woman and the murder of her boyfriend.

The incident happened in an open veld near Commissioner Street, Delmore Gardens, on December 6 when armed thugs gang-raped the woman in full view of her boyfriend before fatally shooting him.

According to Reiger Park SAPS spokesperson, Sgt Mashudu Phathela, the drama started on Tuesday afternoon, in Germiston, when nine men driving in three vehicles pulled over next to the couple and shot the man in the back, before abducting them.

“They first took them to Dikathole, where the couple live, and ransacked their house.

“They later drove them to a veld in Delmore Gardens where two of the suspects took turns raping the woman in front of her injured boyfriend.

Afterwards, they shot the helpless man in the head and drove away with the woman, later dropping her off at the traffic light on the corner of Lower Boksburg and Simon Bekker roads.

The woman reportedly went home to sleep after she was set free and only reported the incident to the Germiston SAPS the following day.

She told the police that her relationship with the dead man was only a month old and that she didn’t know his surname.

Meanwhile, a passerby noticed the man’s body lying in the veld and alerted the Reiger Park police. The man’s body remained at the scene until Wednesday afternoon.

Police have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators.

Anyone with information can contact the Reiger Park police on 011 916 7000.
