Drugs at the centre of Boksburg’s police killings

It has now emerged that drugs were possibly at the centre of police killing that occurred in Jet Park on November 27.

Moses Dlamini from the Independent Police Directorate (Ipid) said that it is alleged that members of the Hawks received information about police officers in possession of drugs and were allegedly about to transport them to the airport.

“Members from the Hawks followed the lead, and upon arrival at the place, a shoot-out between the Hawks and uniformed police members occurred,” said Dlamini.

He said one member from the Hawks and one uniformed member from OR Tambo SAPS were shot dead.

“It is alleged that drugs were found inside the police vehicle – a Ford Ranger.”
