At around 7am on Friday morning, a man fitting the description of the suspected drug peddler was seen leaving Jocelyn Heights flats situated on Commissioner street in Boksburg CBD.
EMPD Spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred M. Kgasago said as the man sauntered down Commissioner Street carrying a black laptop bag the metro police pounced and on searching the laptop bag, found three SAPS official stamps.
One stamp used for certifying documents and two date stamps.
“In the man’s flat the metro police came across thirty (30) R5 Rifle live rounds, eight (8) ziplocks of the drug cat, a pepper spray, two identity documents and one passport.
“In addition, a dozen ignition keys for various makes of vehicles were also found,” said Kgasago.
The 29-year-old suspect was arrested and detained at Boksburg Police Station on charges of possession of stolen property, possession of illicit substances and unlicensed ammunition.
He is expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
