‘No ordinary’ Jesus walk speaks of faith

Local Christians braved the hot temperatures on Sunday, October 30, to participate in the Walk For Jesus.

The annual event started with energising praise and songs of worship by Lewende Woord church members, before the masses hit the road from Laerskool Concordia to the East Rand Mall and back, a distance of 2km.

Ronel Mocke, organiser of the walk, told participants to not just walk, but to walk with a purpose.

“As you walk, you need to speak life into every situation – it’s like a prayer for anything you wish for or want God to do.

“Pray for yourself, your family and even the government,” said Knipe.

The 20th local Walk for Jesus went off peacefully, with the assistance of the EMPD.

Participants also handed out mini Bibles to pedestrians and motorists during the proceedings.

The next Walk for Jesus will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at noon, from Laerskool Concordia.
