Motabisi Kungwayo was reportedly assaulted and shot in the head in Angelo informal settlement on September 26.
He succumbed to his injuries on October 24.
The motive for the attack remains unclear.
Police initially registered an attempted murder case, which has now been changed to murder.
In another story, three men, described as African males driving in a dark grey Mercedes-Benz, robbed a Parkrand woman of R1 000 on October 27.
The woman was entering her garage when she noticed the Mercedes-Benz reversing into the yard.
Suddenly, three men jumped out of the car and held the victim at gunpoint, while demanding her belongings.
They took the money and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, police are looking for two armed thugs, who robbed a shop at Bugattis Centre, on October 26.
The pair reportedly entered the shop and held staff at gunpoint, before helping themselves to the money and a monitor.
