The donation is aimed at assisting the Diesel and Motor Mechanic classes in their technical training academy.
In 2013, Hyundai Automotive South Africa also donated to the school a Hyundai Terracan vehicle.
They have also committed themselves to donating to the school an engine and gearboxes in the near future.
Joanne Cockburn, after-sales training manager, said because they had partnered with St Anthony’s in the past, they decided to continue assisting them with their student development needs by providing them with these tools, to equip learners with the right skills.
“Our ultimate goal is to up-skill these students and to provide possible future employment for them at Hyundai Automotive South Africa. We look forward to the long-term partnership with St Anthony’s and their bright-minded students,” Cockburn said.
Garfield Adams, one of the instructors, expressed joy at the donation received.
“We are very excited about the donation because now our training will be enhanced with the relevant tools that we need to equip the learners with more skills,” Adams said.
Centre manager, Rose Webb, said funding has always been a challenge but she thanks companies like Hyundai who are willing to lend a helping hand.
“We are grateful because this will make a difference in the lives of these children’s education,” Webb said.
