Three killed in separate overnight shootings in Boksburg

Three people were killed within an hour of each other on Tuesday, October 18 in two separate shootings, Boksburg police have stated.

Officers were called at about 12.20am to one of the shootings – in Angelo informal settlement -where they found a Lesotho national, Elias Mokhobohele, lying in a pool of blood with seven gunshot wounds.

Ten spent cartridge were found near his body. Mokhobohele was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

The second shooting took place at about 1am in the informal settlement near Angel Hotel.

Officers responding to a call about the shooting found two BaSotho men identified as Mamelo Fosa and Sammy Maseal, shot dead with their hands tied up.

The pair suffered multiple gunshot wounds and 13 cartridges were found near their bodies.

These three victims make it 24 homicides in Boksburg this year, with 19 of them reported in Angelo informal settlement.
