Win prizes with your animal anti-cruelty poster

The countdown has begun for the Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) team's annual poster competition and all primary school learners are reminded to show their support for the welfare of animals by entering.

To enter, primary school learners have to create posters/pictures depicting ways in which people show compassion and kindness to animals, care for and affect their lives in positive ways.

This poster must not be just a pretty picture, but a picture with a message. A slogan or title may also help in making the message clear. A good poster grabs attention.

AACL spokesperson Johann Steenkamp said learners can enter as many times as they like, but with a R10 donation for each entry.

All money raised will be used by the AACL in their work of caring for and protecting animals.

Steenkamp said learners are welcome to use any medium, eg paint/pastel/ink/crayon etc.

“Be as creative as possible. Paper size must be either A2 or A3. Keep your poster bold, striking and original and have fun,” he added.

On each entry, learners should clearly print the following:

* Their age, name and surname

* Entry category (1/2/3/) and grade (where applicable)

* School’s name and e-mail address

* Their telephone number and that of the school

Send or deliver your posters to:
