One killed, three injured as minibus crashes into wall

One passenger was killed and three others injured after the minibus taxi in which they were travelling plunged against the perimeter wall, in Vosloorus, on Sunday evening, July 17.

According to the EMS spokesperson, William Ntladi, the accident happened in Extension 10, at the intersection of Bierman and Moagi roads.

“Preliminary investigations showed that the vehicle drove over the middle road island and the driver failed to bring it under control before crashing against the wall,” he said.

“The rescue team from Vosloorus Fire Station, in Ekurhuleni, swiftly responded after receiving the call.

On arrival, all four casualties were found on scene except the driver.

“As per information received on scene, the driver literately ran away after the crash.

“The injured were given pre-hospital medical treatment by paramedics before being taken to Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital still in Vosloorus by ambulances while the other was declared dead on scene.”

He said the EMPD is conducting an investigation.
