The Advertiser approached the Ekurhuleni Metro to seek clarity on the length of time the piglet has been suffering and how is it responding to treatment, if any is being administered.
But it appears the top management were clueless about the situation before it was brought to their attention by the Advertiser.
Responding to the enquiry, metro spokesman Themba Gadebe said the issue of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality staff “not reporting an incident like this to management will be followed up to ensure improved supervision over the animals”.
