Three convicted of theft

The following cases were heard in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court

* Mamsoba Mahlangu (29), address unknown, was convicted of theft on June 14.

The accused pleaded guilty and was found guilty as charged for stealing a Puma jersey from East Rand Mall Edgars on May 25.

The accused has a previous conviction of theft in January 2015 and another of housebreaking in July last year.

He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Magistrate Ryan van Haarte presided and prosecutor Shadrack Futshana represented the state.

* Raymond Ronald Fellots (26) of Reiger Park was convicted of theft on June 17.

The accused pleaded guilty and was found guilty as charged for stealing a gym bicycle from Patrice Dawn worth R1 500 on March 14.

The accused has a previous conviction of possession of dagga in August 2009.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison, six of which have been suspended for five years.

Magistrate Ryan van Haarte presided and prosecutor Shadrack Futshana represented the state.

* Matika Linkonyane (33) of Lesotho was convicted for unlawful possession of precious metals on June 7.

The accused pleaded guilty and was found guilty as charged on June 6.

The accused was, on March 11, found in possession of 0.17g of palladium, 0.00028g of gold and 0.00032g of platinum, all worth R3 202.

The accused was arrested at ERPM mine in Cason Road.

He has no previous conviction.

The accused was sentenced to eight months in prison.

* Tebogo Robert Mogabi (32) of Katlehong was convicted of theft on June 21.

The accused stole two continental pillow cases valued at R260 from Mr Price on May 26.

He pleaded guilty and was found guilty as charged.

The accused has four previous convictions of theft in December 2012, July and August 2013 and January 2015.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison.

Magistrate Jurg Vivier presided and prosecutor Themba Maluleke represented the state.
