Thieves steal R160 000 worth of goods

Burglars targeted two businesses in the Boksbug CBD over the weekend, stealing an estimated R160 000 worth of goods and cash

They cut through the roof of the Continent Tyre building, disabled the alarm system and stole goods worth R100 000.

They also made away with R2 284 in cash.

The Pep Store on Commissioner Street was also burglarised.

Thieves smashed their way into the store from the roof top – to steal up to R60 000 worth of goods.

The thugs are thought to have struck on the Saturday night, after workers had left the businesses on Saturday afternoon.

Boksburg police are investigating the incidents.

The police forensics team conducted examinations of the crime scenes and results are still pending.
