A leap for joy

Members of the Boksburg Camera Club recently visited the Smoking Pistons motocross track, to hone their photographic skills.

Local camera club grows in leaps and bounds

Steve Koekemoer, outings coordinator at the club, organised the thrilling trip, which follows earlier outings to photograph sunflower fields and vintage cars at Irene.

Camera Club members who wished to attend the trip met at 7am, at the Boksburg Library, and travelled in convoy to the track at Liefde en Vrede, in Alberton.

Educating the youth on photography 

After a short coffee break in the early morning chill, Koekemoer lectured the photographers on the required track safety before proceeding with the photo shoot.

The riders then began hurtling around the track, creating suitable dust clouds at the corners before leaving mother earth at the ramps and jumps. The four riders put on a combined show for members of the club, presenting wonderful opportunities to capture the perfect action shot.
