Police seize counterfeit DVDs, stolen property

Boksburg North SAPS members achieved the following successes the past week.

Possession of counterfeit DVDs

Boksburg North SAPS members were patrolling in North Rand Road, Jansen Park at around 2.45pm on May 11 when they saw a person selling “something out of a box”.

“They stopped the suspect, searched him and found counterfeit DVDs in his possession,” said Boksurg North SAPS communication officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer.

The suspect was arrested and detained at Boksburg North SAPS.

Possession of stolen property

A security guard was parked outside a shopping centre, in Atlasville, when he heard people shouting and other guards running after a VW Golf, on May 11, around 7.30pm.

The boom gate of the centre was closed and the guard managed to stop the vehicle.

The SAPS were notified and searched the suspects.

According to Coetzer, they found stolen liquor from the liquor store in the centre and illegal substances in their possession.

The suspects were arrested and detained at Boksburg North SAPS.

Housebreaking with intent to steal

The owner of a shop in Charl Cilliers Street was notified that there was a break-in at her shop at around 1.10am on May 13.

“The complainant rushed to her shop and found a security company at her premises, along with the apprehended suspects,” said Coetzer.

The Boksburg North SAPS arrested the suspects and detained them on the charge of housebreaking with the intent to steal.
