According to the Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) spokesperson, William Ntladi, DEMS responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Rondebult Road and the R554, in Windmill Park, at about 6am.
“Two of the 14 passengers in the taxi, died on the scene,” he said.
“Meanwhile, the other 12 passengers suffered serious injuries and were rushed to various nearby hospitals for treatment.
“Both drivers escaped without serious injuries.”
The intersection was partially closed to traffic while the vehicles were being removed from the scene.
EMPD officers were also at the scene and conducted an investigation into the crash. -@FanieFLK
